As many of you may already know, on September 20th, Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria, a Category 4 storm which left our brothers and sisters on the island in dire need and crisis.

If you are reading this, be proud of yourself—you made it through 2016. Regardless of the ups, downs, and turnarounds, you are here and I am happy to know and connect with you.
Now more than ever, we need safe spaces for storytelling, connection and healing. Now more than ever, we need to do some uncovering, unlearning and shedding. Now more than ever, we need to reintroduce and reacquaint ourselves with our essence—love.
The last couple of days following the election of Donald Trump have left many of us feeling disheartened, disappointed, and hopeless. Despite how devastated we are, we are not helpless. There is a lot of work to do and as Hillary told us in her concession speech, “never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and to achieve your own dreams.”
This is you making a pledge that you will boycott cities, states, businesses, and institutions which are either willfully indifferent to police brutality and racial injustice or are deliberately destructive partners with it. — Shaun King
